glock aplc

Glock Aplc - Pistol lights have gotten a bad reputation over the years, with people having to give up due to failed activation switches or electrical problems. The first generations of lights were known to have problems but now the APL full size is in its third generation. I have been running both APLc models in my SIG Sauer P229 Legion and CZ P10C for over a year. The APLc comes in a smaller package than the APL weapon light NPLC Enforce offers several advantages over other lights on the market

The Enforce APLC is a compact 200 lumen light that fits Glock-frame handguns or standard 1913 Picatinny railed handguns. There are two different models to better fit any handgun you may carry I picked up one of each and ran the Standard 1913 in my SIG 229 and the Glock model in my CZ P10C. The APLc has an average run time of 1.5 hours on CRL batteries and has high output LED bulbs.

Light measure 2.5. At under 2.5 inches and weighing less than 2 ounces, it's a compact and lightweight option for weapon mounted lights. Activation toggles are located on either side of the light making it fully ambient Activating the light is easy enough whether you're shooting right-handed or left-handed This is a great advantage for shooting with your weak hand or from cover To replace the battery, all the user has to do is open the bezel and access the battery by replacing the front part.

Over the past year, I've dropped both lights on my gun many times from concealment and regular basic drill. The light is significantly lighter than others on the market The light frame makes target transfer incredibly fast A downside to running something like the X300 is the extra weight that can slow the shooter down when moving the target. Concealment is also faster due to less bulk and weight compared to other lights I installed the APLc on the compact size handgun because it is a smaller light than other models.

As a result, the light bezel and lens carbonized after a few hundred cycles through it This was not a big problem and the charcoal was easily cleaned with just a regular cloth I didn't need any special solvents or materials to clean the light I took a few trips to the night range with the APLc and the light produced a wide flood view that was consistent across the light spectrum. There were no areas of high beam intensity, which I did not expect given the size and weight

At the end of both range sessions, I realized that the lights did what I wanted them to do at close range and that their 200 lumen capacity was not enough in most cases. The light struggled at 30 yards and beyond, but that's asking a lot from a small pistol light. When I shoot longer distances for practice, I usually swap out the Inforce for an X300 Ultra but for less than 50 yards, the APLc did a really good job of illuminating the target.

Perhaps my favorite thing about the Enforce APLC is carrying it on a daily gun. This light makes it as easy to carry a weapon light as a larger light like the SureFire X300 Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my Surefire X300 Ultras but on hot summer days, they sometimes heat up my butt.

The APLc is a great option if you're the type of person who wants to carry a firearm without adding a ton of bulk to your gun. I have separate kydex holsters for the gun and light combination and one small frame APLc for the light. This means that the holster does not have to be very large to accommodate the light, making it easier to carry for long periods of time. Now I know that Enforce APLC lights may not be the brightest option in the market However, it is one of the lightest options and that makes it one of the most user-friendly lights on the market because it is so light.

Overall I don't think people should be afraid to try Enforce Light There were a lot of issues with the first generation and even Enforce admitted they weren't the most reliable but now the third generation lights have been overhauled and I think they are a great light option. Enforce also has a lifetime warranty so if a problem does arise, they will fix it quickly which is peace of mind. I plan to continue using both lights on my gun and will let you know if they change or not but so far so good. I am an avid shooter and love to teach whether it is at my job or in the shooting community. I'm just an average Joe who really enjoys talking to others about firearms and other hobbies Not many years ago, it was unusual to see someone outside of the military or law enforcement carrying a firearm. As lights became more compact and less expensive, they became more common More and more civilians started equipping their concealed carry guns Enforce has released a new product to make it even easier

Traditionally, adding a weapon light to your favorite compact handgun also adds unwanted bulk and makes it uncomfortable to conceal. The light adds a certain length to the pistol without the thickness Enforce solved this by designing a weapon light to fit under the dust cover of the most popular concealed handgun, the Glock 19.

The Enforce APLc weapon light is no thicker than a Glock 19 slide and does not extend beyond a gun barrel. In less than two cubic meters, it adds 200 lumens of pure white light with almost no distortion. When carried in the IWB (inside the waist) attached position, the minimum mass is not noticeable If you wear a belt, there's really no excuse not to attach a light to your gun

The primary (and indeed, only) reason for carrying a weapon light is to be able to identify a target in a lethal force situation. While some of us are lumen hogs, 200 lumens is plenty of output for a handgun light. Many shooters have trouble hitting a target that is too far away to be within range of the APLc

On dark and foggy nights, with the carbine, I want all the LUMENS 200 lumens APLc is acceptable in a typical urban environment when you factor in the small package it comes in.

The original Apple had some problems with its early release system It was resolved in later generations With APLC, Enforce went with a minimalist approach The mounting system uses a classic cross-bolt design The bolt goes through the body of the APLc and through a slot in the dust cover of the G19 On the opposite side, it threads into a metal nut on the light body Care should also be taken when tightening the cross bolts to strip the threads or break the light body. This is a very simple and effective mount design

Controls at Enforce APLC set it apart from the competition APLc allows easy access to heterogeneous and transient or constant light In general, two-handed shooting, it is easier to depress the pedal switch with the thumb of the support-side hand. A quick tap and release will turn the light on in continuous mode Another tap and release will turn it off Holding the pedal for more than half a second will put it in the mode momentarily Releasing the pedal will stop it If the light is on, continuously on mode, pressing and releasing the pedal for more than 1/2/second will also turn it off. Typing it is more complicated than doing it

Where the APLC really shines is the competition when you can only use one hand to operate the handgun. In this situation it is important to be able to turn on the light with your hand on the firing grip
